The Hunger Games

(This music, although inspired by the books, is not involved with the creation, publication or distribution of the Hunger Games Trilogy.)

series by Suzanne Collins

IMPORTANT NOTE!!! If you have not read The Hunger Games, I strongly advise you to NOT read the descriptions of these tracks until you have read the books or seen the movie. THERE ARE DEFINITE SPOILERS BELOW.

Survive the Night

For that terrible first night inside the arena, when name after name is appearing in the sky.

The Seam

Inspired by the general feeling the reader gets from the location of The Seam and the dim, gloomy air of the coal mines District 12 must work in to attempt survival.

Haymitch and the Train

For Haymitch's curious nature with alcohol and the travel across Panem to the Capitol.

Cinna

Created for the first time that Katniss meets Cinna, her stylist. I wanted a futuristic and exotic feel for this one, seeing as Cinna, though an avid fan of eyeliner, is not as much into the wild trends as the other Capitol residents. He is more sleek and refined, and there is a trustworthy aura about him.

Careers

Katniss' first arena "meeting" with Cato and the career tributes, as she hides in the tree above them.

Tell Me a Story

When Katniss and Peeta are in the cave, he asks her to tell him a story, and she opts to explain the strange events that led her younger sister Prim to acquire her goat, Lady. This is a rather warm moment for the two tributes, even though they are aware of the fact that all of Panem are witnessing almost every move they make.

Why They Stay

Near the end of the first book of Collins' trilogy, Katniss has outsmarted the Capitol by threatening the lives of both remaining finalists, resulting in two winners of the Hunger Games, something that is sure to bewilder the people of the Capitol and enrage the President of Panem. As Katniss stands immobile, watching Peeta get stitched up by the doctors, she explains to the readers that she now understands why people stay when they don't want to witness a loved one in pain, but just can't pull themselves to another room.
