Track descriptions and lyrics can be found below.

I love silver cars. I like Georgia. I put them together. Busy people trade the people who care about them for new settings where they can prosper but may not find love that way. My friend Kevin Kyle, who has known me since I was seven-years-old, added a smooth electric guitar solo on this one.

Streetlights burning brighter than the stars
And I can't see your world through shiny, silver cars
And the brighter they get, the sadder you become
It's the sound of every clock, working against you
Everybody knows you're gone to Georgia
And only in your head do you return
But there are lots of people down in Georgia
And none of them will ever ask your name
And the sadder they get, the brighter you become
It's the sound of every clock working for you
It's the feeling that you get when you're alone
They will always ask you where you're going
They just want to know when you'll be home
When on the road, those signs will take you nowhere
And your silver car will never bring you home

So many people are driven to sue for any perceived offense, but scars from pain or wrongdoing can be keepsakes to remind us of how much we grew by enduring the experience. Some scars are meant to be kept and forgiven, and there is always someone with a bigger scar than yours.

A little rain never hurt nobody
A little smile never hurt nobody
A little talk never hurt nobody
I've been around the block a few times
I never hurt nobody
And what I've found is you gotta be willing to give
You gotta forgive if you wanna be happy
You gotta be happy It's the source of all we fear, all we hold dear
It's another way to show that you care, now
You gotta be happy, you gotta be happy
You gotta be happy Never hurt nobody
A little blood never hurt nobody
A little scar never hurt nobody
A little pain never hurt nobody
You've been around the block a few times
You never hurt nobody
And what you found, when you opened both your eyes
You gotta fight if you wanna live
You wanna live It's the source of all we fear, all we hold dear
It's another way to stay alive, now You wanna live, you wanna live
You wanna live You gotta be happy
You gotta be happy, you gotta be happy
Never hurt nobody, you gotta be happy
Never hurt nobodA little rain never hurt nobody

A little rain never hurt nobody

A little smile never hurt nobody

A little talk never hurt nobody

I've been around the block a few times

Ahh... my happy love song. Maybe someday I'll get a ukelele to play this.

I'd sleep through the day if you were right there with me
I'd sing in the rain if you were the melody
What happy, little people, shining in the sun
They all believe that 'love' is just another word for 'fun'
But I can truly tell you love has torn us both apart
You can't replace your own with someone else's broken heart
Is it too much to ask for me to be forgiven?
You're all that I am, and I would be 1
If you would be another 1 to make us into 2
There's nowhere else on earth I'd rather be than here with you
They all say when the sun sets you've run out of time
And, baby, you don't want to get behind
I looked at the stars; they never could spell your name
I'm starting to see why I could never blame you
For leaving like you did, without a word, without a care
You treated this like some kind of doomed love affair
I guess now that it's over you're running back to her

But, love, I'll always cherish who you

wereI'd sleep through the day if you were right there with me

I'd sleep through the day if you were right there with me

I'd sing in the rain if you were the melody

What happy, little people, shining in the sun

This is my second personal favorite on the CD: an allegory for anyone who has stepped out into “darkness” then taken a fall—needing to be comforted by an angel or friend—until they can pick themselves up again. Violinist Bev Smith (Cassopolis, MI) is featured.

Waves crash ashore, the tide brings me in
Gasping for breath, what was I thinking?
Angel, stay with me tonight I lost my wings, and so I cannot take flight
I've fallen from the sky Hold me, surround me completely
At least until I fall asleep My angel of the night
The stars shine down, I've got water in my ears
You're calling my name but I just can't hear you
Angel, stay with me tonight I lost my wings, and so I cannot take flight
I've fallen from the sky Hold me, surround me completely
At least until I fall asleep My angel of the night
Why are you hiding from the light?
Angel, stay with me tonight I lost my wings, and so I cannot take flight
Oh, I miss the sky Hold me, surround me completely
At least until I fall asleep
My angel of the night I didn't mean to fall
I just took off when the time felt right
But the Man Upstairs said, "You can't fly at night"

But the Man Upstairs said, "You can't fly at night"

Here’s another little happy love song about nice, romantic things happening in spite of the sky crying overhead. My dad Drew Frailey accompanied me on guitar for this one.

t started pouring today, hey, hey
You and I walked along for a while
And it was all the same
Since I knew your name
From somewhere I had been
And I didn't show, oh, no I had my own set of rules to decide
All you needed was a new pair of shoes
And someone to confide in
You needed someone to say,
"Hey, hey Come, and talk to me for a while"
I knew you well, but I still couldn't tell
How you felt back then
It started pouring today, hey, hey
You and I sat out there for a while
It was raining down on your head
Drowning out the flower beds
Raining down on my head
Couldn't hear a word we said
The sky was crying today, hey, hey
You and I cried along for a while

It started pouring today, hey, hey

You and I walked along for a while

And it was all the same

Since I knew your name

From somewhere I had been

And I didn't show, oh, no I had my own set of rules to decide

All you needed was a new pair of shoes

And someone to confide in

You needed someone to say,

"Hey, hey Come, and talk to me for a while"

Useless is something we so often feel when we’re young or there seems to be no solution to a problem. The sense that we are small and powerless in the face of evil or adversity must be fought by listening to our own heart, which often results in some type of prayer. My dad played bass on this one; my mom Joy Frailey added 12-string guitar and sang some backup vocals.

Your days are sadly ending
You don't know what to say
And all you hear are sounds
Of your fragile life, slipping away
Give up, give up, move on now
It's useless
Don't listen to your heart
It will only bring you down
It's Sunday when you're praying
And Monday, your heart is breaking
It's so easy but you're fighting
To keep the world you know from dividing
Give up, give up, move on now
It's useless Don't listen to your heart
It will only bring you down
It will only bring you down
I am only winning
Because you somehow let me, didn't you?
And I can feel the pain we caused
And I bet we were never meant to be
So give up, give up, move on now
I'm useless
I don't listen to my heart
I will only bring you down
I don't want to see you down
I just want to see you smile
So give up
Give up

Your days are sadly ending

You don't know what to say

And all you hear are sounds

Of your fragile life, slipping away

Give up, give up, move on now

It's useless

Don't listen to your heart

It will only bring you down

It's Sunday when you're praying

And Monday, your heart is breaking

It's so easy but you're fighting

To keep the world you know from dividing

Give up, give up, move on now

It will only bring you down

I am only winning

Because you somehow let me, didn't you?

And I can feel the pain we caused

And I bet we were never meant to be

So give up, give up, move on now

I'm useless

I don't listen to my heart

I will only bring you down

I don't want to see you down

I just want to see you smile

So give up

Give up

This is my personal favorite on the CD. Sometimes love is not the calmest thing to experience. It's complicated. It's terrifying. But most of all... it's a beautiful mess.
“Wow! I love this music by Adrienne Frailey. Listen to ‘Catastrophe’ first. Wish I could compose like this!” tweeted author Kaleb Nation (Twitter, 5/4/09). “This is beautiful...And I'm so entranced with this song that I've shared this with several friends. I'll be researching your work now, seeking out your music CDs. This song is sweet. Soothing.”—JH, South Carolina

Wake up, you wake up beside me
And this is the place where you'll find me
Suddenly, why do we want to say hello
When we need to say goodbye?
It's a catastrophe for you and me
So why is there no trace of fear in your eyes?
Tell me, say the words I want to hear
"You look so lovely, my dear"
Suddenly, why do we want to say hello
When we need to say goodbye?
It's a catastrophe for you and me
So why is there no trace of fear in your eyes?
Suddenly, why do we want to say hello
When we need to say goodbye?
It's a catastrophe for you and me

This ballad was inspired by Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. Almost everyone in the world now knows how much Bella loves Edward! Again, my friend Kevin Kyle played an electric guitar solo for this one.
SIDE-NOTE: I know Edward's eyes weren't gray, even when he was human. (They were green.) The problem I came across while writing, however, was that green doesn't rhyme with away. :D

Your eyes are holding me right now
And they have turned a darker gray
And not one breath escapes your mouth
As you lean in and take mine away
You touch my face and all my worries are gone
Oh, just a little bit closer now
Another star is born in the sky above
And you know I'm just a little bit closer
To a world I'm not afraid of
I want you more than I want life
I need you near me every day
There a fire trying to get out
But that's the price we have to pay
For all the demons in you
And all the fear that not inside me
Oh, just a little bit closer now
Another star is born in the sky above
And you know I'm just a little bit closer
To a world I'm not afraid of
A world I'm not afraid of
You're keeping me from
A world I'm not afraid of
If you could hear what's in my mind
All the thoughts I keep at bay
Not one breath would leave your mouth
As you leaned in and took mine away

Your eyes are holding me right now

And they have turned a darker gray

And not one breath escapes your mouth

As you lean in and take mine away

You touch my face and all my worries are gone

For all the demons in you

And all the fear that's not inside me

(Repeat Chorus)

You're keeping me from

A world I'm not afraid of

If you could hear what's in my mind

All the thoughts I keep at bay

Not one breath would leave your mouth

As you leaned in and took mine away

This is that place we don’t want our loved ones to stray into but often a place that we don’t have the power to bring them out of—until they want to be out of it themselves. This was one of the first songs I wrote at sixteen-years-old, even before my CD was a dream on the horizon. It has been given the most radio airplay, though, and was well-received on Folkalley.com.

Can't you see the darkness forming in the sky?
Can't you feel the storm rolling in?
Every night you're hiding from the flay of the downpour
They all wonder where you've been
It seemed to you there was no place you could fit in
And you set out to hide away
Out of that wasteland and into the sky
How can feel so alive?
Do you remember when you said you would fly?
Do you believe in goodbye?
Recall the times when you were afraid of living life
I guess you held onto your fear
And all those days when you shed tears for your sadness
It seemed as if no one would hear
You learned to bear it silently, you kept it all in
The only way you knew how to
Out of that wasteland and into the sky
How can feel so alive?
Do you remember when you said you would fly?
Do you believe in goodbye?
It ain't no lie when you said you cried
You're still hiding
If you would just search for yourself
But you've stopped trying
They all missed you even when you were here
Don't you know that spring is slipping by?
All that time you wasted, all alone in your weakness
And you never thought of asking why?
How fast does the wind have to bring you back home
From that wasteland, far away?
The choice is only up to you
Will you look back or choose to stay?

This is a break-up song written for anyone who has gotten wise and left a well-crafted note of sarcasm for the other to find. "Wish I could save you from the burden of always being right." This song is where the line goodnight to the stars comes from for the CD title.

"Goodbye" to everything you saw last night
Say "goodnight" to the stars
And "good morning" to the sun
Good luck is who you are
If I could breathe a thousand words to you tonight
Would you understand why I shouldn't stay?
Wish I could save you from the burden of always being right
But the truth is the world doesn't work that way
"Hello" to the first smile that you see
A "see you later" to another on the street
And "good morning" to the one you had before
Good luck to whoever you may meet
If I could keep a thousand thoughts all to myself tonight
Would you understand why I shouldn't stay?
I could lie and tell you you'll be alright
But I'm sorry the world doesn't work that way
I could tell you I love you
But the truth is that concept's above you
Oh, you'll say "Goodbye" to everything you felt last night
Say "goodnight" to everything you see
And "good morning" to the sun
But you won't say anything to me
No, nothing to me

"Goodbye" to everything you saw last night

Say "goodnight" to the stars

And "good morning" to the sun

Good luck is who you are

If I could breathe a thousand words to you tonight

Would you understand why I shouldn't stay?

Wish I could save you from the burden of always being right

But the truth is the world doesn't work that way

"Hello" to the first smile that you see

A "see you later" to another on the street

And "good morning" to the one you had before

Good luck to whoever you may meet

If I could keep a thousand thoughts all to myself tonight

Would you understand why I shouldn't stay?

I could lie and tell you you'll be alright

But I'm sorry the world doesn't work that way

I could tell you I love you

But the truth is that concept's above you

Oh, you'll say "Goodbye" to everything you felt last night

Say "goodnight" to everything you see

And "good morning" to the sun

But you won't say anything to me

No, nothing to me

A friend (who knew his music theory) told me this tune was Broadway-worthy. Wow! :D You be the judge of that. I wrote it somewhat inspired by a young man whom I hope to see again someday. Violinist Bev Smith (Cassopolis, MI) is featured.

Of all the wrong things I've done
Wrong choices, wrong turns
And all that I've become
Please, God, I'm begging You
Don't let him be one I wrote the score, just before You heard it
I have the notes; I know every line
I know my part; I'm just the curtain girl
I have to skills to speak of
He sing's for me, beneath the spotlight
I don't know myself; who's that girl in the white dress,
Pretending to care and laughing with her friends?
Please, God, I'm begging You
Watch me when I sleep I've signed my will, and still I can't leave him here
I've sold my place; I'm just the girl upstairs
Whose past is so forgotten
He waits for me, beneath the streetlight
And hide-and-seek is not a game
That a big girl should be playing
I just don't have the time anymore
I left my heart on Main Street
Just so it couldn't bother me or hurt me
I couldn't bear the lovesick heartbeat
Please, God, I'm begging You
Keep him from me, at least for now
He's just too close to me, too far from
You I'll leave him here; I know
You'll take care of him
And maybe when I'm older
He'll dance with me beneath the moonlight

Of all the wrong things I've done

Wrong choices, wrong turns

And all that I've become

Please, God, I'm begging You

Don't let him be one I wrote the score, just before You heard it
